Invisalign

What is it?

Invisalign is a system of custom-made, BPA-free clear plastic aligners that progressively move teeth into their ideal positions. Each set of aligners is worn for one to two weeks before progressing to the next, gradually guiding teeth without wires or brackets.

Why do you need it?

Crooked, crowded, or spaced teeth affect bite function, cleaning efficiency, and confidence. Invisalign achieves the same orthodontic results as traditional braces but with aligners that are virtually invisible, removable for eating and brushing, and cause less gum irritation.

Who is it for?

Teenagers and adults with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite. Severe skeletal discrepancies may still require traditional braces or surgery.

Treatment Procedure

2. 2ClinCheck - a digital simulation of the complete tooth movement journey.
3. 3Custom aligners fabricated and delivered (usually 20-40 sets).
4. 4Patient wears aligners 20-22 hours per day, changing sets every 1-2 weeks.
5. 5Check-up visits every 6-8 weeks to monitor progress.
6. 6Refinement aligners issued if minor adjustments are needed at the end.
7. 7Retainers fitted at the end of active treatment to maintain results.

Aftercare

• Wear retainers as instructed - full time initially, then nightly long-term.
• Clean aligners with a soft toothbrush and cool water (avoid hot water which warps them).
• Remove aligners before eating or drinking anything except plain water.
• Brush and floss before reinserting aligners after meals.
• Store aligners in their case when removed to prevent loss or damage.

Diagnosis

A digital scan, photographs, X-rays, and bite analysis determine the amount and type of tooth movement needed and confirm whether Invisalign or conventional braces are the most appropriate option.

Prognosis

Invisalign achieves results comparable to traditional braces for most cases. Treatment typically takes 6-18 months. Results are stable long-term with consistent retainer wear.
