Six Month Smiles

What is it?

Six Month Smiles is an accelerated orthodontic system using tooth-coloured nickel titanium wires and clear brackets to straighten the visible front teeth in an average of six months, compared to 18-24 months for conventional braces.

Why do you need it?

Many adults have mild misalignment of the front teeth and want a fast, discreet correction without years of treatment. Six Month Smiles focuses only on aesthetic alignment rather than full bite correction, making it dramatically faster than conventional orthodontics.

Who is it for?

Adults with crowded, spaced, or rotated front teeth who have an otherwise acceptable bite and are looking for a quick cosmetic improvement before a special event, wedding, or just for general confidence.

Treatment Procedure

1. 1Consultation and photographs, impressions, and X-rays to confirm suitability.
2. 2Tooth-coloured brackets bonded to the front teeth.
3. 3Nickel-titanium wire threaded and engaged.
4. 4Monthly adjustment appointments (15-20 minutes each).
5. 5Debond (removal of brackets) at completion.

Aftercare

• Wear retainers as instructed without fail - teeth relapse without retention.
• Brush carefully around all bracket and wire surfaces after every meal.
• Use interdental brushes or a water flosser to clean beneath the wire.
• Avoid sticky, hard, or crunchy foods that damage brackets.
• Attend all monthly adjustment appointments to stay on schedule.

Diagnosis

Photographs, study models, X-rays, and a detailed bite analysis confirm whether the patient's bite is suitable for the limited tooth movement involved in Six Month Smiles.

Prognosis

Patients who complete Six Month Smiles and wear their retainers maintain their results long-term. Since bite is not fundamentally altered, there is less risk of orthodontic relapse than with full-arch treatment. Cosmetic outcome is typically excellent.
